Following criticism of the original artwork, Sabrina Carpenter, 26, has unveiled a new album cover for “Man’s Best Friend.” The pop star announced the alternate image on Instagram June 25, captioning a photo of the new cover with a playful, “approved by God.” The album, “Man’s Best Friend,” is still slated for release Aug. 29.

The new cover features a black-and-white photograph of Carpenter dancing with a man in a suit, reminiscent of a famous image of Marilyn Monroe and her then-husband Arthur miller. Carpenter previously channeled Monroe for a Vogue cover in March.
The initial album art, revealed June 11, depicted Carpenter kneeling and resting her hand on a man’s leg, while he held a chunk of her hair. Some fans found the image ”disgusting” and “disturbing,” while others defended the pop star’s artistic choice.
