Akash Chopra’s Account of the Incident
‘I was in the changing room but I wasn’t in the conversations there. As I was very young then, I didn’t try to get into it. Sachin was not happy that day. I saw him unhappy for the first time in my life. I have never seen it like this before. It was very disappointing,’ said Akash Chopra.
The Match That Got Away
Sachin scored 194 not out in the first Test against Pakistan in Multan. India were 356 runs for two wickets when play was suspended on the second day of the match.
It was at this point that captain Rahul Dravid declared the innings, depriving Sachin of a chance to score a double century. This decision meant that Sachin lost his opportunity to achieve this feat in the match.
