Sadhvi Pragya Claims Forced to Name Modi,Yogi in Malegaon Case; Declares “Saffron Terror” Narrative Debunked

New Delhi: Days after being acquitted in the 2008 Malegaon blast case,former BJP MP Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur has made a significant claim,stating she was “forced to name” Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath during the inquiry. She asserted that she endured considerable “torture” for refusing to implicate anyone falsely.
“tortured a Lot” for Refusal to Implicate
Sadhvi Pragya revealed that she had submitted in writing the names of those who coerced her during the probe. “Yes, I was forced,” she stated on Sunday.”I didn’t succumb to pressure and didn’t take anyone’s name, didn’t falsely implicate anyone… So, I was tortured a lot.”
Her remarks come in the wake of a special NIA court acquitting her and six others in the sensitive Malegaon blast case. The court’s verdict, she declared, signifies a victory for “Bhagawa, Sanatana Aur Rashtra” (Saffron, Eternal Truth, and Nation).
“Saffron terror” Narrative Faces Rebuttal
The former MP expressed her strong sentiment that those who propagated the “saffron terror” narrative have been discredited. “Bhagwa aatankwaad kehne waalon ke munh kaale huye hain,” she was quoted as saying by news agency Years. “Society and the country have given them a solid reply.”
She further elaborated, stating, “The court’s decision is crystal clear.this is a slap on the faces of those who called it ‘saffron terror’… They called it ‘saffron terror’ and ‘Hindu terror’ earlier too. Maharashtra’s Chavan (Prithviraj Chavan) has spoken on ‘sanatana aatankwaad’, ‘Hindutva aatankwaad’.They are people of the same category. They are all members of Congress.”
Truth and Dharma Prevail
Sadhvi Pragya emphasized that the truth has ultimately triumphed. “Dharma and truth were on our side, so we were bound to win. Satyameva Jayate! I had said this earlier and this has been proven now… The country has always been with Dharma and truth, and it will always be,” the BJP leader asserted. She pledged to continue her efforts for the nation despite the difficulties she faced.
