SAEL Solar MHP1 Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of SAEL Industries Ltd., has obtained $132 million in debt financing from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), New Growth Bank (NDB), and Societe Generale. The funds will support a solar power project in Andhra Pradesh, contributing to India’s renewable energy capacity.
Each institution committed $44 million to the SAEL solar project, awarded through a competitive auction by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). The investment aims to facilitate the execution and operationalization of the project, aligning with India’s objectives for renewable energy and the expansion of clean energy infrastructure in Andhra Pradesh.
SAEL’s business includes solar and agri waste-to-energy projects across India. The company has a portfolio of more than 6.5 GW of Solar IPP projects, including operational and under-development assets. SAEL also operates solar module manufacturing facilities with a total capacity of 3.5GW,utilizing TOPCon technology.
