Minister of Equipment and Transport Oversees Road Development Projects
The Minister of Equipment and Transport, Ely Ould El-Ferk, has announced that projects currently at the 30% threshold have been agreed with their operators to continue working towards timely completion. Failure to meet deadlines may result in the sector taking legal measures.

These projects include the road section between Umm Lazham and Tambdugha, the Tambdugha Al-Naama section, and the ongoing work on the road connecting Anbeket Lahwash and Ashmim.
The government has implemented a clear methodology to ensure the timely completion of all development projects. Administrative and local authorities are working together to overcome obstacles and difficulties, prioritizing the completion of these critical projects.
During the visit, the Minister inspected several road sections and projects within the road network, spanning from Nouakchott to Inpeket Lahouache. Meetings were also held with administrative authorities and local officials to discuss project progress and challenges.
The government’s plan aims to implement projects according to specified deadlines and specifications. The visit enabled the review of nine projects, with five projects over 60% complete and others ranging from 80% to 30% completion. The sector has increased meetings with companies and monitoring offices to accelerate work and ensure completion before the end of the year.
