Saint Etienne is set to release their final album, International, on September 5th via Heavenly Recordings, signaling the end of an era for the beloved indie-pop band. Saint Etienne Announce final Album ’International’

British indie-pop trio Saint etienne have announced what they say will be their final album,
International. The album, the group’s follow-up to The Night, is slated for release Sept. 5
via Heavenly Recordings.
The first single from International, “Glad,” features guitar work from Doves’ Jez Williams and was
co-written and co-produced by Tom Rowlands of The Chemical Brothers. A music video directed by Scrub
accompanies the single.
Saint Etienne,formed in London in 1990,gained recognition for blending indie-pop with club sounds. The
group, consisting of Pete Wiggs, Bob Stanley, and Sarah Cracknell, released their debut album, Foxbase
Alpha, in 1991.
After a break from recording following their 2005 album, Tales From Turnpike house, Saint Etienne
returned in 2012 and have consistently released new music since, including Home Counties (2017) and
I’ve Been Trying to Tell You (2021).
According to a press release, the band members remain close but “don’t feel like they want to go on forever
and wanted to go out with a bang.”

“We asked Tom if he had any songs in progress that might suit Saint Etienne,and he sent a backing track
that he’d been working on with Jez from Doves,” Saint etienne vocalist Sarah Cracknell said. “We fell in
love with it straight away, and the top line melody and words for ‘Glad’ came easy.”
Pete Wiggs added, “The song is about taking pleasure in everyday things like nature and the outdoors when
life is or else getting you down.”
