O’Shaughnessy acknowledged the difficulties, stating, “I understood that this was her basic nature, and she had a lot to lose, but I didn’t like it. I wish we could have been more open.” She added that the decision to remain private was reinforced after they started a science education company,as they depended on corporate sponsorships.
