The shuttlecock of the girls’ badminton team at Samsang Elementary School in Jangheung-myeon, Yangju-si flew as hard as it could.

Samsang Elementary School’s girls’ badminton club won the 2024 Dongducheon Yangju Girls’ School Sports Club Badminton Competition held at the Okjeong Sports Park Indoor Gymnasium on the 30th of last month.

Samsang Elementary School is a small school with about 80 students. It is especially active in physical education for female students and operates a variety of activities.

The badminton team at Samsang Elementary School is comprised of four 6th grade female students.

Students learn the basics at the after-school badminton club and train every Thursday morning at the morning sports club badminton club led by teacher Kim Ho-yeol.

Ahead of the competition, students voluntarily trained with their parents at the school gymnasium as well as the village culture and sports center until evening hours to develop their skills.

Gyu-ho Han, the teacher who taught the student, said in his thoughts on winning, “The students are interested in badminton and participate hard, so I participated to open up a wider field, and I am very proud to have won.”
