Samsung is expanding the reach of its digital art ecosystem by integrating the Samsung Art Store across a broader range of hardware and partnering with high-profile contemporary artists to showcase works during Art Basel Hong Kong 2026.
The Samsung Art Store, which was previously exclusive to The Frame lifestyle television, has undergone a significant expansion. As of April 17, 2025, the platform became available on approximately 90% of 2025 Samsung TVs, including Neo QLED 8K, 4K, and QLED models.
Hardware Expansion and Ecosystem Growth
The transition from a single-product feature to a broad platform allows Samsung to bring digital gallery experiences to a larger install base of premium screens. The Art Store now features more than 3,000 artworks from over 1,000 artists, supported by partnerships with more than 70 museums, including The Met and MoMA.
To support this growth, Samsung implemented a three-tier pricing structure for its subscriptions:
- A free tier providing over 360 rotating works.
- A monthly subscription priced at $4.99.
- An annual subscription priced at $49.99.
This strategic shift coincided with a 70% year-over-year growth in subscriptions, reflecting a trend toward the democratization of digital art consumption within the home environment.
Art Basel Hong Kong 2026 Collaborations
As part of the Art Basel Hong Kong 2026 Collection, Samsung is utilizing its display technology to bring contemporary art into domestic spaces. This includes a collaboration with German artist and explorer Michael Najjar.

Najjar’s work, specifically the 2016 piece europa
, is available exclusively on the Samsung Art Store. The work explores the intersection of technology, infrastructure, and human ambition, reflecting Najjar’s fascination with space travel.
Najjar’s background as a future Virgin Galactic astronaut, expected to fly aboard Virgin Spaceship Unity (VSS Unity) in 2027, informs his visual language. His work blends photography and digital construction to chart the terrestrial and cosmic frontiers.
The integration of these works on Samsung Art TVs is designed to extend the experience of the Art Basel fair beyond the physical event, using display technology to reveal layers of detail in the digital reproductions.
Technological Integration of Art and Display
Samsung’s strategy involves blending high-end display technology with lifestyle appeal, particularly through the use of OLED and Neo QLED panels. This approach aims to transform the television from a traditional media device into a digital canvas that mimics the experience of a physical art gallery.
By leveraging the color accuracy and contrast of premium panels, the Samsung Art Store attempts to bridge the gap between archival pigment prints and digital displays. This is evident in the presentation of Najjar’s work, which in its original physical form consists of Archival pigment print on Alu-Dibond and Diasec.
The current push for OLED art coverage at events like Art Basel underscores Samsung’s objective to maintain a presence at the intersection of technology and the contemporary art market.
