MILAN, Italy – Samsung Electronics is deepening its involvement with the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026, outlining plans to integrate mobile innovation and Galaxy AI across the Games-time experience. The company’s initiatives aim to connect athletes, fans, and communities, bridging geographical gaps inherent in the multi-venue event.

Opening Ceremony Innovation

A key component of Samsung’s plan involves integrating Galaxy S25 Ultra devices into the live broadcast production of the Opening Ceremony on February 6th. These smartphones will work alongside established broadcast cameras, capturing dynamic perspectives from locations such as jibs above the field and athlete entrance tunnels. This integration, enabled by the devices’ portability, camera quality, and 5G connectivity, is designed to expand coverage without disrupting existing broadcast workflows. Samsung is collaborating closely with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and Olympic Broadcast Services (OBS) to ensure seamless integration.

Yiannis Exarchos, CEO of OBS, emphasized the importance of this collaboration, stating that Samsung’s technology will help deliver “dynamic perspectives that complement our core broadcast coverage,” and help viewers “feel closer to the energy and emotion of this historic moment.”

Supporting Games Operations and Volunteers

Beyond the Opening Ceremony, Samsung’s technology will support various operational aspects of the Games. A select group of volunteers will be equipped with Galaxy devices featuring Interpreter, powered by Galaxy AI, to facilitate communication between athletes, officials, and visitors. This feature processes translations directly on the device, ensuring fast and reliable communication across the diverse environments of Milano Cortina 2026. Samsung Account login may be required to use certain AI features, and the accuracy of results is not guaranteed.

Andrea Varnier, CEO of Milano Cortina 2026, highlighted the crucial role of technology in the Games, stating that Samsung’s innovation is “fundamental in bridging the distances between our venues, transforming the vast territory of Milano Cortina 2026 into a single, unified arena.”

Fan Experience and Competition Support

Samsung will also provide Galaxy Charging Stations at stadiums across host cities to help spectators keep their devices powered throughout the Games. Samsung monitors will be deployed across Short-Track Speed Skating disciplines, providing high-quality displays to support operational needs and ensure fair play.

Samsung House: A Hub for Connection

Samsung House, located in Milan’s Palazzo Serbelloni, will serve as a central hub for connection and storytelling during the Games. Officially opening on February 4th, it will host a curated program including National Olympic Committee nights, live competition viewings, and displays of the Victory Profile portrait series. The space aims to foster interaction between athletes, partners, and media. Michelin-starred Italian chef Enrico Bartolini will contribute hospitality elements, adding a local cultural touch.

Samsung House will operate through February 22nd during the Olympic Winter Games and will reopen from March 6th to March 15th during the Paralympic Winter Games. Access will be invitation-only, creating a dedicated space for meaningful connections.

A Long-Standing Partnership

Samsung has been a Worldwide Olympic Partner since the Olympic Winter Games Nagano 1998 and a Worldwide Partner of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) since the Paralympic Winter Games Torino 2006. The company’s commitment extends through the Los Angeles 2028 Games. Samsung’s involvement focuses on leveraging its mobile technology, including artificial intelligence, virtual reality, augmented reality, and 5G, to enhance the Olympic and Paralympic experience for athletes and fans alike. The company aims to continue opening up the Games, supporting athletes from preparation to the podium and bringing fans closer to the action.
