Samsung Fold 5: Review & Performance
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7: First Impressions of the Next Folding flagship
Table of Contents
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold series continues to push the boundaries of smartphone innovation, and the Z Fold7 is no exception. We’ve had a chance to get hands-on with the latest iteration, and we’re excited to share our first impressions. This isn’t just an incremental upgrade; Samsung has listened to feedback and delivered a foldable that feels more refined, powerful, and genuinely useful. Let’s dive into what makes the Z Fold7 stand out.
Design & Display: A Refined Foldable Experience
Samsung hasn’t drastically overhauled the design of the Z Fold7, but rather focused on refining what already worked. The hinge feels even smoother and more durable, inspiring confidence with each open and close. The bezels around both the cover screen and the unfolded display have been subtly reduced, maximizing screen real estate without making the device feel unwieldy.
Speaking of the displays, they’re absolutely stunning. The cover screen remains perfectly usable for everyday tasks, and the unfolded display truly transforms the Z Fold7 into a mini tablet. colors are vibrant, blacks are deep, and the 120Hz adaptive refresh rate ensures buttery-smooth scrolling and animations. When unfolded, the Fold7 becomes a genuinely immersive experience, whether you’re watching videos, browsing the web, or multitasking. Samsung has also improved the crease – it’s still visible, but noticeably less pronounced than in previous generations. You’ll quickly forget it’s even there during normal use.
Camera & performance at Flagship Level
For the first time, Samsung has adopted the 200-megapixel main camera from the Galaxy S25 Ultra. this is a huge leap forward for the Fold series, delivering incredibly detailed and dynamic photos. The 3x zoom camera with 10 megapixels is also identical, providing excellent versatility. however, the Fold7 has to do without the additional 5x zoom optics of the Ultra model – presumably because the casing would simply not offer enough space for the periscope camera.
But don’t let that deter you.The camera system is still incredibly capable, and the image processing is top-notch.Low-light performance is significantly improved, and the new camera features offer even more creative control.
Inside, the Snapdragon 8 Elite works with either 12 or 16 gigabytes of RAM. We weren’t permitted to conduct benchmark tests at the event, but initial impressions showed the system to be incredibly responsive and well-optimized even before its market launch. Multitasking is a breeze, demanding games run flawlessly, and the overall user experience is incredibly fluid. You won’t find a more powerful foldable on the market.
Prices & Availability
The Galaxy Z Fold7 is now available in two memory configurations:
12 GB RAM / 512 GB storage – €2,099
16 GB RAM / 1 TB storage – €2,519
but here’s the really exciting part: pre-order customers benefit from a free memory upgrade until July 24! This means you can get the better-equipped model for the price of the basic version. This is a fantastic deal and a great incentive to jump on board early. The offer is available directly from Samsung and through many participating retailers.
Is the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 worth it?
If you’re looking for the ultimate foldable experience, the answer is a resounding yes. It’s a premium device with a premium price tag, but the innovative design, powerful performance, and stunning displays make it a worthwhile investment for those who want the best of both worlds – a smartphone and a tablet in one. The Z Fold7 isn’t just a gadget; it’s a glimpse into the future of mobile computing.
