Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 & Buds 4 Pro Launched: Transparent Design & Hi-Fi Audio
Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy Buds4 series – encompassing the Galaxy Buds4 and Galaxy Buds4 Pro – at its Galaxy Unpacked event held in San Francisco, California on (early WIB). The new earbuds, released alongside the Galaxy S26 series, represent a significant update to Samsung’s popular TWS lineup, focusing on improved audio fidelity, enhanced comfort, and intelligent features.
The Galaxy Buds4 series introduces a notable design shift, particularly in the charging case. Departing from the vertical orientation of the Buds3 series, the new cases feature a semi-transparent design on the lid, allowing users to visually confirm the presence of the earbuds within. This returns to the horizontal, curved-corner aesthetic of the Galaxy Buds2 series.
While the charging case receives a visual overhaul, the earbuds themselves maintain a familiar stem-based design, incorporating a metallic finish. This design choice balances aesthetic appeal with functional considerations, providing a secure fit and easy access to controls.
Hi-Fi Audio and Intelligent Features
A core focus of the Galaxy Buds4 series is delivering a superior hi-fi audio experience. Samsung emphasizes improvements to both hardware and software, aiming to reproduce sound as faithfully as possible to the original recording. According to Andrew Short, Product Management at Samsung, the Buds4 series incorporates a two-way speaker system with a larger vibration area, dual amplifiers, Adaptive ANC, and support for Ultra High Quality Audio. “This combination is capable of delivering clearer, more detailed, deeper, and richer sound,” Short stated.
The Buds4 Pro, in particular, features a Super Wide Woofer, combined with enhanced Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and an enhanced Adaptive Equalizer (EQ). This configuration is designed to deliver a full-spectrum sound experience that dynamically adjusts to real-world conditions. The integration of AI-powered features further enhances the user experience, adapting to individual listening preferences and environmental factors.
Galaxy Buds4 vs. Galaxy Buds4 Pro: Key Differences
The Galaxy Buds4 series comprises two models, each catering to different user preferences. The Galaxy Buds4 Pro utilizes an in-ear design with silicone ear tips, providing a more isolating fit. The standard Galaxy Buds4, conversely, adopts an open-ear design, foregoing ear tips altogether. Samsung asserts that both models benefit from improved ANC stability and reliability compared to previous generations, though specific decibel reduction figures were not disclosed.
The Buds4 Pro’s in-ear design inherently offers better passive noise isolation, while the open-ear design of the standard Buds4 prioritizes situational awareness. Both models aim to deliver a noticeable improvement in ANC performance, adapting to varying noise levels in real-time.
