Samsung to Adjust Galaxy S26 Pricing, Ultra Model to See Price Drop
Samsung intends to raise the price of some models in its upcoming Galaxy S26 series, while together decreasing the price of the Galaxy S26 Ultra, according to new reports from Swedish dealer data.
Rumors surfaced on January 8, 2026, indicating potential price increases for the Galaxy S26 series due to rising costs of DRAM, driven by demand for high-bandwidth memory used in AI applications.Increased demand for DRAM, fueled by the construction of AI data centers, has led to scarcity and higher prices.
WinFuture reports that Samsung plans to increase the price of the Galaxy S26 by approximately €100. Conversely, the Galaxy S26 Ultra will cost nearly €100 less than the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
The base Galaxy S26 model will cost 11990 swedish Krona (SEK) for Swedish consumers. This represents a €100 increase between 256GB storage models, not 128GB models. Samsung plans to discontinue the 128GB storage variant, increasing the base storage capacity. This change has already been implemented for the Galaxy S26 Ultra, and will extend to the base and Plus models.
