Samsung has confirmed a camera malfunction affecting the Galaxy S26 Ultra, while simultaneously expanding the rollout of its April 2026 security updates across a broad range of its mobile portfolio, including the Galaxy S24, A-series, and M-series devices.
Galaxy S26 Ultra Camera Bug and Resolution
Users of the flagship Galaxy S26 Ultra have reported a specific technical issue when capturing close-up photographs. The bug manifests when using the 24-megapixel camera mode combined with 2x zoom, resulting in a discrepancy between what is seen in the viewfinder and the final captured image.
Reports indicate that the captured image often shifts to the left after the photo is taken, particularly when the Focus Enhancer feature is enabled. This timing issue is believed to stem from a conflict between the preview pipeline and the final image processing stack, which can cause a brief delay in post-processing as the system re-evaluates focus and exposure.
Samsung has acknowledged the problem and confirmed that a fix will be delivered in a forthcoming software update. While some reports mentioned blurry photos at 3x zoom in low-light conditions with the flash, the primary acknowledged bug involves the 24MP close-up processing.
April 2026 Security Rollouts
Parallel to the S26 Ultra hardware-related software fixes, Samsung is distributing its April 2026 security patches to various device tiers. These updates are designed to address 47 security vulnerabilities across the system.
The distribution is occurring in stages across different global regions:
- Galaxy S24 Series: The April security package has reached the Galaxy S24 line in Brazil and other regions.
- Galaxy A-Series: The Galaxy A15 and Galaxy A36 have begun receiving the patch, with the initial rollout starting in South Korea.
- Galaxy M-Series: The Galaxy M16 has also started receiving the April update, though some reporting indicates the distribution for this specific model arrived with a delay.
For the Galaxy M16, reports from India show the update package is approximately 304 MB. The broader rollout for the A-series is expected to reach additional countries in the days following the South Korean debut.
These updates are part of Samsung’s routine maintenance to combat emerging digital threats and ensure the stability of its One UI ecosystem across both high-end and budget-friendly hardware.
