A San Antonio man wanted for the aggravated sexual assault of a child has been returned to United States custody after being captured in Mexico.
Isaac James Garcia, 34, was arrested on April 10, 2026, in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico. The arrest was carried out by Mexican authorities from Policia Civil Coahuila with assistance from the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force.
Following his capture, Mexican authorities expelled Garcia through the International Port of Entry in Eagle Pass. He was then transferred to the U.S. Marshals Service without incident. He is expected to be returned to Bexar County to face pending charges.
History of Evasion and Prior Charges
Authorities stated that Garcia had evaded capture for years despite multiple law enforcement efforts to locate him. This included a 2024 incident in Mexico where he allegedly fled in a vehicle, resulting in a dangerous pursuit.

Garcia has a prior criminal history involving federal charges. In 2018, he was arrested on charges related to transporting undocumented immigrants for financial gain. While he was released on bond at that time, he later violated the terms of his pretrial release.
Subsequently, Garcia was charged in Bexar County with the aggravated sexual assault of a child, leading to the fugitive status that resulted in his recent capture.
