WWE Returns to San Diego
On November 29, 2023, San Diego officially recognized teh WWE Survivor Series premium live event, marking the city’s first time hosting a major WWE event as One Night Stand in 2008. Mayor Todd Gloria proclaimed the day “WWE Survivor Series Day” in honor of the occasion, as announced on his Instagram account.
Keys to the City Presented
Mayor Gloria presented keys to the city to several prominent WWE personalities. Recipients included Nia Jax, AAA Mega Champion dominik Mysterio, and WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio, acknowledging their contributions to the world of professional wrestling and their presence at the San Diego event.
Dominik Mysterio Claims Intercontinental Championship
The Survivor Series event itself saw a significant moment for Dominik Mysterio,who defeated John Cena to win the Intercontinental Championship. This victory occurred during what woudl become one of john Cena’s final matches with the company before his eventual retirement, adding past weight to the contest.
