Sandhausen Snaps Stalemate Streak: Clear Plans in Place for 1860 Munich Showdown

November 1, 2024 Catherine Williams - Chief Editor Sports

SV‍ Sandhausen Aims for Seventh Win of the Season Against 1860 Munich

SV Sandhausen is on ⁣track to secure their seventh win of the season, having drawn their last ⁣three matches. Despite falling behind in each game, ⁤they managed to pull out a 1-1 draw. Following a draw with Bee, the league lead shifted ⁤to Cottbus.

SVS coach Sreto Ristic ⁢reflected on recent games, stating, “The results did not satisfy us, but the performances were good.” He added,‍ “I’m sure⁣ we could have scored more points, but we could have gotten less.” ‍Sandhausen, tied on points with Cottbus, remains firmly in the title race. However, their next opponent suffered a heavy 1-5 loss to ‌Cottbus in their ‌last match.

Ristic cautioned against underestimating the Munich Lions, saying, “They are like injured boxers ⁣and we have seen they can put up‍ a fight. 1860⁣ are a team with a strong squad and ⁣were considered⁣ promotion favorites by many before the start of the season.” He highlighted their strengths, noting, “They can transition quickly and have a strong presence in the penalty area.”

The match against 1860 Munich is scheduled for⁢ Saturday, 2 November, at 2 pm and will be broadcast live on swr.de/sport and ‍on the YouTube channel ‌SWR Sport Fußball. Ristic expects⁤ a balanced game, stating, “It will be a⁣ game at eye level and we will not risk everything. We have⁢ to approach it‍ seriously and have a clear plan.”

Additionally, Ristic will have to contend with the loss of⁢ two players for the game against Munich. Besar Halimi and Jeremiah Rohrch received one-match suspensions for receiving their fifth‍ yellow card ‍in the match against Bee.‍ Ristic emphasized ‍the need for every player to give their best, saying, “We ‍need ⁢to give everything,‌ we need 11 players to be⁤ at 100% – maybe more than that.”
