U23 World Cup Baseball: China’s Team Prepares for Tomorrow’s Match
The U23 World Cup baseball tournament is set to take place from September 6 to 15 in Shaoxing, China. The preliminaries are divided into two groups, with the top three teams in each group advancing to the Super Round.
The Chinese team is part of Group B, alongside South Korea, Nicaragua, Netherlands, South Africa, and Venezuela. Group A consists of Australia, China, Colombia, United Kingdom, Japan, and Puerto Rico.
Chinese Team’s Lineup and Strategy
Zeng Jiahui, the fourth pick of the Monkeys in last year’s Chinese professional baseball draft, will start tomorrow’s game against South Korea. He is one of the nine mid-career players in the Chinese team’s lineup and has played in 14 games this season, including 9 starts, pitching 53.2 innings with 2 wins and 7 losses and an ERA of 4.70.
The Korean team will be started by left-hander Kim Tae-hyun from Gwangju First High School.
