One person died and three others sustained injuries Friday in a single-vehicle accident involving a commercial bus in Sango-Ota, Ogun State. The incident underscores ongoing concerns about road safety and traffic accidents in the region.
The fatal accident occurred around 5:20 p.m., according to Mr. Adekunle Oguntoyinbo, unit commander of the Sango-Ota Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC). Oguntoyinbo said the bus, bearing registration number FST 633XW and traveling from the toll gate toward Owode-Ijako, lost control due to brake failure.

The out-of-control vehicle then struck a beggar who was on the roadside.
Oguntoyinbo advised beggars to stop begging for money on the roadside.
The FRSC unit commander also urged pedestrians to exercise caution to prevent needless loss of life on the roads.
What’s next
The FRSC is expected to intensify its campaign on road safety, focusing on vehicle maintenance and pedestrian awareness, to mitigate future accidents in the area.
