The ongoing rollout does not require an appointment and runs from Monday through Friday at designated Basic Health Units throughout the municipality, sb24horas reported. Officials from the Secretaria de Saúde advise residents who have not yet received the shot to visit their nearest vaccine room to build antibodies against Influenza A and B viruses, which helps prevent severe forms of the disease.
Incorporated Calendar and Eligibility Requirements
The immunization follows recommendations from the Ministry of Health and the State Health Secretariat. The Ministry of Health shifted the program away from a traditional campaign model last year, instead integrating influenza vaccination directly into the routine vaccination calendar.
Patients must present a photo ID, along with either a CPF or a SUS card, to receive the dose. For children, parents or guardians must also bring the routine vaccination booklet, according to the sources.
