SantaCon Brings Festive Cheer to Cities Worldwide
SantaCon Spreads Holiday Cheer (and Maybe a Little Chaos) Across the U.S.
New York City – Thousands of Santas, Grinches, and elves descended upon cities across the U.S. on Saturday for the annual SantaCon pub crawl, bringing a wave of festive cheer (and perhaps a touch of holiday mayhem) to streets and bars.
In New York City, where temperatures hovered around freezing, the merriment kicked off around 10 a.m. and was expected to continue well into the evening. A crimson tide of holiday revelers, clad in Santa suits, elf costumes, and even Grinch attire, flooded the streets, making their way to participating bars and clubs.
Participants are encouraged to donate $15 to enter participating venues, with proceeds going to charity.
Similar festive gatherings took place in about 50 cities across the globe, including London and San Francisco, bringing holiday cheer (and perhaps a few headaches) to revelers worldwide.
