Suffolk County police responded to a 911 call at approximately 3 a.m. Thursday, discovering Burack’s body on Montauk Highway. Investigators believe a driver struck her and then fled the scene.
Paulette Corsair, a friend of Burack’s for more than 10 years, expressed deep sorrow over the loss. Corsair confirmed Burack died from traumatic brain injuries sustained in the crash. The circumstances surrounding Burack’s presence on Montauk Highway at that hour remain unclear.
