Sarah’s Vision for the Show
Looking ahead to the showcase, Sarah said: “I am so excited about this event. It will be special and unique, just like the fabulous tweeds and woollens we have in this county. I consider myself blessed to be able to live and work in Donegal as its dramatic and ever-changing landscape provides me with endless inspiration.
There has been a fabulous reaction to the fact that I reopened my great grandmother’s shop here in Bunbeg and I will be paying tribute to her at the fashion show. We will be having some special guests, and the craic will be as wonderful as the fashion!
“It is a different type of fashion show and will be a real event where guests can realy relax and enjoy beautiful food and fashion. we will have some special guests on the night and I am so happy to be able to support the irish Lifeboat Association as they do amazing work.”
About Sarah Lorraine and Donegal Craftsmanship
Renowned for her utilitarian yet elegant designs, Sarah creates pieces that blend practicality with sophisticated style. Her work often features locally sourced Donegal tweed and wool, highlighting the region’s rich textile heritage.
The Importance of Donegal Tweed
Donegal tweed is world-renowned for its unique texture and vibrant colors. The tweed is traditionally handwoven by local artisans, using wool from Donegal sheep. The process involves dyeing the wool in a variety of shades before weaving, resulting in a distinctive speckled effect. This makes each piece truly unique.
