SAT too Take Legal Action Against Spread of Misinformation regarding SEA games Preparations

The Sports Association of Thailand (SAT) has issued a strong warning against the dissemination of false or misleading information concerning its preparations for the 33rd Southeast Asian (SEA) Games, to be hosted by Thailand.
The SAT released a statement responding to inaccurate information circulating on social media platforms regarding the organization’s roles and responsibilities in preparing for the upcoming SEA Games. The statement, published by the SAT’s Public Relations Division on Facebook, expresses the organization’s willingness to accept constructive criticism but firmly condemns the spread of falsehoods.
Legal Action Will Be Pursued
According to the SAT announcement, any criticism based on false information, distortion of facts, or defamatory statements that could damage the organization’s reputation or negatively impact the morale of its employees and officials will be met with legal consequences. The SAT explicitly stated it will pursue disciplinary, civil, and criminal action against those responsible, “as the case might potentially be.”
The SAT emphasized that these legal measures are intended to protect the honor and dignity of the organization.
Commitment to Clarity and Improvement
Despite the firm stance against misinformation, the SAT reiterated its openness to constructive feedback. The organization stated it is indeed “very pleased” and ”ready to receive constructive and honest criticism,” and is committed to making improvements to ensure the SEA Games competition meets the highest international standards.
