Tsumabuki Satoshi expressed his love for Taiwan, stating that he is happy to take on the responsibility of promoting the country. He also praised the friendly and warm people of Taiwan, as well as the delicious Taiwanese tea and food.
Tsumabuki Satoshi’s appointment as tourism spokesperson is part of Taiwan’s efforts to increase the number of foreign tourists, particularly from Japan. In 2019, Japan ranked first with 2.16 million visitors, but as of August this year, there were only 800,000 visitors, less than half of the previous year.

The Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transport is focusing on the Japanese market, promoting independent travel to Taiwan and offering incentives such as free plane tickets for groups of four or more.
Tsumabuki Satoshi’s appointment is seen as a significant move to boost Taiwan’s tourism industry, and his popularity in Japan is expected to attract more visitors to the country.
