Saudi Arabia Prioritizes Accurate Hajj & Umrah Details for Pilgrims, Engages Media

RIYADH – Saudi Arabia is intensifying efforts to harmonize information systems related to Hajj and Umrah, aiming to ensure prospective pilgrims receive accurate and reliable guidance for a safe and peaceful journey.this commitment was underscored during a workshop held Tuesday for journalists, emphasizing the crucial role of media in disseminating correct information.

“Our aim in holding this workshop is to create and align the information system on Hajj and Umrah,” stated Hassan Al-Manakhra,Deputy for Foreign Relations at the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. He reaffirmed the goverment’s dedication to fostering strong, sustainable relationships with the Indonesian media, recognizing its importance in reaching a significant portion of potential pilgrims. The Ministry stressed that accurate information is paramount to pilgrim well-being. “If the information provided about Hajj is accurate, it will make pilgrims feel comfortable and at ease. Or else, if the information provided is invalid, Hajj and Umrah pilgrims will feel uncomfortable and unsafe,” Al-Manakhra explained.

The workshop served as a platform for open dialog, encouraging journalists to share challenges they face in accessing reliable Hajj and Umrah information. Participants highlighted difficulties in obtaining up-to-date details regarding pilgrimage implementation, leading to a suggestion for the establishment of a dedicated media center. This center would act as a central hub for journalists to access verified information and directly address queries.Moath, the media manager of the Ministry of Hajj and umrah, outlined existing channels for information access. He directed journalists to the official websites and social media accounts of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, the Ministry of Media of Saudi Arabia, and the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
