The weather system is actively impacting the regions of Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, Makkah, and Al-Madinah, bringing moderate to heavy rainfall, according to reports published by the Saudi Press Agency and Al-Yaum newspaper. In the Makkah region, authorities issued a red warning for heavy rain and severe winds specifically affecting the districts of Raht and Madrakah, as reported by Al-Riyadh newspaper.

Extended Weather Impact Across Additional Regions

Beyond the primary five regions facing active storms, the National Center for Meteorology indicated that conditions remain favorable for the formation of thunderclouds over Hail, Al-Jawf, the Northern Borders, the Eastern Province, and Najran. According to additional coverage from Al-Yaum, these areas are experiencing strong winds that stir up dust and sand, which can severely reduce horizontal visibility, particularly in parts of the Tabuk region.

Marine Conditions and Coastal Wind Speeds

Surface winds are blowing from north-westerly to south-westerly directions at speeds ranging from 15 to 35 kilometers per hour, climbing past 50 kilometers per hour near thunderstorms over the central and southern portions of the sea, as outlined by meteorological data. Wave heights span from 0.5 to 1.5 meters, exceeding 2 meters in active storm cells, with sea conditions shifting from light and moderate to rough. In contrast, conditions in the Arabian Gulf remain calmer. Surface winds across the northern and central sections run westerly to north-westerly, shifting overnight to south-easterly. In the southern sector, winds start south-easterly to south-westerly before turning north-westerly to north-easterly overnight at speeds of 10 to 30 kilometers per hour, keeping wave heights between 0.5 and 1 meter with light wave conditions.
