Saudi Arabia Celebrates 44th National Day in Mauritania
Yesterday, Monday, the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Nouakchott hosted a reception to commemorate the 44th anniversary of the Kingdom’s National Day.
The Mauritanian government was represented at the ceremony by several ministers, including the Minister of the Interior, Promotion of Decentralization and Local Development, Mohamed Ahmed Ould Mohamed El Amin, who attended as Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and African Cooperation. Other notable attendees included the Minister of Islamic Affairs and Indigenous Education, Sayed Yahya Ould Sheikhna Ould Lamrabet, and the Minister of Trade and Tourism, Zainab bint Ahmadnah.
During the ceremony, the Kingdom’s ambassador to Mauritania, Muhammad bin Ayed Al-Balawi, delivered a speech highlighting the significance of the celebration under the slogan “We Dream and Achieve.” He praised the Kingdom’s achievements in various areas of development and commended the efforts made to serve the pilgrims of God’s Holy House.
Al-Balawi emphasized the strong bond between Saudi Arabia and Mauritania, characterized by deep brotherly ties at both official and popular levels. He highlighted the current cooperation in development projects financed and managed by the Saudi Development Fund, as well as the humanitarian efforts led by the King Salman Relief Center. The ambassador also referenced the mutual visits between officials of the two countries and the signing of numerous agreements and memorandums of understanding that strengthen bilateral relations.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia celebrates its National Day on September 23 every year, marking the unification of the Kingdom in 1932 under the leadership of the founding King Abdul Aziz bin Abdul Rahman Al Saud.
