According to Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadiya, Al-Dosari is on the verge of a significant milestone if he participates in the World Cup qualifier against Indonesia.
With 83 international matches under his belt, Al-Dosari is just one match away from equaling the tally of Fouad Anwar, one of the biggest stars in the history of the Saudi national team and former Al-Dosari and Shabab club star.
Currently ranked 27th, Al-Dosari is tied with Reda Tucker in the list of most capped players in the history of the Saudi national team.
If Al-Dosari takes part in the match against Indonesia, he will move up to 25th place, equaling Fouad Anwar’s record.
The list of most capped players in the history of the Saudi national team is topped by the great goalkeeper Muhammad Al-Dea, who played 173 international matches, followed by Muhammad Al-Khelaiwi and Sami Al-Jaber with 163 and 156 matches, respectively.
At 33 years old, Al-Dosari has been a part of the Saudi national team since February 29, 2012, when he made his debut in a 2014 World Cup qualifier against Australia and scored a goal.
