Taebaek City to‍ Promote Model and ‍Gourmet Restaurants for Healthy Food Culture

Taebaek City, Gangwon ⁣Province,​ has ⁣announced plans to promote the⁢ designation ⁣of model and gourmet restaurants from‌ September 11th to September 27th. The initiative aims to raise the level⁤ of hygiene⁣ in restaurants and create⁤ a healthy food culture.

Eligible ‍applicants for the model/food business designation include general restaurants registered within the city. Applications can be ⁤submitted through⁢ the⁢ Taebaek ​City Hall Civil‌ Affairs and Sanitation Management⁣ Team or the Taebaek City Branch of the Korea Restaurant Association.

The designation of‌ model food establishments will be made through a fair and objective review by ⁤the Food Culture Improvement ​Movement ⁢Promotion⁤ Committee and on-site inspections based on detailed designation criteria set ‍forth in the Food Sanitation Act.

In addition to new​ designations,‍ a review for re-designation will be‍ conducted until October 31st for ⁢56 ‌establishments that have been designated for over a year.

Businesses designated as model/food ⁤businesses will⁤ receive‌ a 30% discount on water usage fees for one year (excluding multi-family ‌and delinquent ⁣businesses). They will also be provided ‍with ​garbage volume-based bags, sanitary containers, and other sanitary products.

City officials stated, “To ‍establish a healthy food ⁢culture where Taebaek citizens and ‍tourists visiting​ Taebaek can eat with confidence, we will⁣ expand model​ and food restaurants by thoroughly ⁣managing and supervising‌ model and ⁢food ​establishments and providing various benefits.”
