Scam Alert: Fake ID-Austria App Update Emails

Users of the ID-Austria application have been targeted by a fraudulent email campaign, according to a warning issued by Watchlist Internet on May 11, 2026.

The deceptive emails claim that a software update for the ID-Austria app is necessary. Recipients are prompted to take action to perform this supposed update to ensure the continued functionality of their digital identity tool.
