Taiwan’s Minister of Transport Embroiled in Affair Scandal

Li Mengyan, Taiwan’s Minister of Transport, has been at the center of a heated debate after netizens revealed his alleged 5-year affair with a woman surnamed Zhang. The scandal, which was first exposed on the Public Kicking Industry Forum (PTT), has sparked widespread discussion and outrage.

According to Taiwanese media reports, the affair is believed to have begun when Li Mengyan was in charge of the Tainan Water Conservation Office. Zhang’s daughter is said to have been devoted to Li, following him throughout his career and ignoring the potential risks to her reputation and well-being.

Netizens have also shared photos of Li Mengyan and Zhang together, including images of them dining at high-end restaurants and taking photos in public. However, it appears that Li’s behavior changed after he was promoted to a higher position, and he eventually neglected and abandoned Zhang.

Li Mengyan has since apologized for his actions, expressing his deepest and sincerest regret for the trouble he has caused to his wife, family, and the public. He has submitted his resignation to President Lai Qingde and Chief Executive Officer Tho Wing Tai, which has been approved by the Executive Yuan. As a result, Li Mengyan has become the shortest-serving Minister of Transport in Taiwan’s history, holding the position for just 92 days.
