Scott Foley Joins ABC’s ‘Will Trent’ Cast for Season 3 Premiere

Scott Foley has joined the cast of ABC’s series Will Trent in a recurring role. The third season of Will Trent will premiere on January 7 at 8 PM on ABC and will be available for streaming on Hulu the next day.

Will Trent is based on Karin Slaughter’s bestselling book series. It follows Special Agent Will Trent, portrayed by Ramon Rodriguez. Will was abandoned at birth and faced many challenges in Georgia’s foster care system. He now uses his experiences to pursue justice and has the highest clearance rate in the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

Gina Rodriguez will also appear in the series as Marion Alba, a confident Assistant District Attorney. She and Will must work together after an awkward first meeting leads them to investigate a crime involving Atlanta gangs. Marion may become a love interest for Will, who has a complicated relationship history with Angie, played by Erika Christensen.

With Foley’s arrival, his character Dr. Seth McDale becomes Angie’s new romantic interest. Dr. McDale is the head of emergency medicine at a local hospital.

The series features Sonja Sohn as Amanda Wagner, Iantha Richardson as Faith Mitchell, and Jake McLaughlin as Michael Ormewood.

The executive producers of Will Trent include Liz Heldens, Daniel Thomsen, Karin Slaughter, Oly Obst, Howard Deutch, Ellen Marie Blum, and Ramón Rodriguez. Heldens and Thomsen are also co-showrunners. The show is produced by 20th Television.
