All three players were already on tour with Scotland in New Zealand when they received the urgent call too join the Lions.Winger Darcy Graham is set to join the squad on monday, while prop rory Sutherland, a veteran of the 2021 Lions tour, and hooker Ewan Ashman will link up with the team in Melbourne this Sunday.
This influx of talent is expected to see the trio feature prominently in next week’s fixture in Melbourne. their inclusion is a strategic move to safeguard the main touring party, allowing them to focus on the critical Test matches ahead.
A Summer of International Duty for the New Additions
The three Scottish internationals have been actively involved in their nation’s Summer Tour, which included games in New Zealand and fiji. While none of them featured in Scotland’s victory against the Maori All Blacks, they were all part of the squad that faced Fiji in Suva, a match Scotland ultimately lost 29-14.
Notably, Darcy Graham received two yellow cards during the match against fiji, leading to his temporary dismissal. However, a subsequent World Rugby disciplinary hearing opted against a ban, issuing the dynamic winger with a warning instead.
Expanding the Lions’ Ranks
