Scout Comics Drops Lunar Distribution Due to Lateness Policy

Scout Comics will no longer be distributed by Lunar Distribution. This change results from Lunar’s new policy regarding delayed comic book releases. The latest Lunar catalogue, which includes listings from February 2025 onward, does not feature Scout Comics. However, Scout titles were listed for January 2025.

Christina Merkler from Lunar Distribution explained that the decision was made to ensure retailers receive titles on time. Lunar aims to support retail partners by suspending new proposals from publishers with significant unfilled orders compared to delivered products.

In October 2024, several Scout Comics releases were delayed, prompting concerns for the company. Titles like Dark Untold Strange Detective #1 and Baby Barbarian #1 have been pushed to a new release date of December 4, 2024. This clustering of releases could create challenges for Scout Comics.

Despite losing Lunar Distribution, Scout Comics remains with Diamond Comic Distributors. The company has faced a difficult year, including allegations regarding payment practices from creators and negative press. Scout has attempted to address these issues, securing new funding and launching its Dark Harbor line. For now, the future of Scout Comics distribution remains uncertain, but they continue to be listed with Diamond.
