Sean McGarvy to Head Scripps Digital News Content Strategy

The E.W. Scripps Company has tapped Sean McGarvy as its new senior director of digital news and content strategy. mcgarvy will be responsible for the strategic progress and execution of news content across all Scripps News Group digital platforms, including Scripps News and its local stations. This move underscores the company’s focus on expanding its digital reach and delivering extraordinary journalism to consumers on every platform.
Dean Littleton, Scripps’ executive vice president of media broadcast operations, emphasized the importance of the new role. he said McGarvy’s experience and vision make him ideally suited to lead Scripps’ digital news strategy and meet the growing demand for news on digital and streaming platforms.
Since April 2020, McGarvy has served as Scripps’ senior director of local news strategy, connecting more than 60 local stations with a national news footprint. his prior experience includes serving as news director at WEWS, the Scripps ABC affiliate in Cleveland, and assistant news director at KMGH, the Scripps ABC affiliate in Denver.
