Sean McGarvy to Head Scripps Digital News Content Strategy

The E.W. Scripps Company has tapped Sean McGarvy as its new senior director of ⁢digital news and content strategy. mcgarvy will be responsible for the strategic⁤ progress and execution of news content ⁣across all Scripps News Group digital platforms, including Scripps News and its local stations. This move underscores the company’s focus on expanding its digital reach and⁢ delivering extraordinary journalism to⁢ consumers on every platform.

Dean Littleton, Scripps’ executive vice president of ⁢media broadcast operations, emphasized the importance of the new role. ⁤he said McGarvy’s experience and vision make him ideally suited to lead Scripps’ ‍digital news strategy and meet the growing demand for news on digital ⁤and streaming platforms.

Since April 2020, McGarvy has served⁤ as Scripps’ ⁤senior director of local news strategy, connecting more than 60 local stations with‍ a national news footprint. ⁤his prior ⁣experience includes serving as news director at WEWS, the Scripps ABC affiliate in Cleveland, and assistant news director at KMGH, the Scripps ABC⁤ affiliate in Denver.
