Seattle Seahawks Make Roster Moves Ahead of Week 2
The Seattle Seahawks are off to a solid start to the 2024 NFL season, beating the Denver Broncos 26-20 in Week 1. The win was the first for new head coach Mike McDonald, who took over in the offseason and appears to be adjusting well to his new role.
Seattle is expected to be a playoff contender this season, with a roster loaded with solid talent on both offense and defense. On the offensive side, the team features Geno Smith, DK Metcalf, and Kenneth Walker, while the defense looks solid at all three levels.
Ahead of their Week 2 game against the New England Patriots, Seattle made some changes to their practice squad to promote the Seahawks. The team signed linebacker Jamie Sheriff, bringing back an undrafted rookie who was a standout in the preseason. Receiver Ty Scott was released to make room on the practice squad.

Jamie Sheriff has been a standout in the Seahawks’ preseason, recording three sacks in the team’s last two friendlies. He eventually signed with the Carolina Panthers but was waived after Week 1 despite playing 28 snaps on defense and special teams.
Sheriff was an undrafted free agent, but now he has another chance to remain in the NFL. It’s still unclear whether he’ll make an impact, but it’s a low-risk move for the Seahawks, who always need more pass-rush help.
