The Minnesota Lynx suffered their frist loss in 10 games, falling to the seattle Storm 94-84 on Wednesday. Despite Napheesa Collier’s impressive 25 points and nine rebounds, the Lynx couldn’t contain Seattle’s offense.
Kayla McBride contributed 19 points and six assists, while Alanna Smith added 14 points. Bridget Carleton also scored 11 for Minnesota. However, the Lynx struggled to match Seattle’s intensity.
The Lynx mounted a late comeback attempt. Trailing 85-79, Natisha Hiedeman and Kayla McBride hit shots to close the gap to a single point with just over a minute remaining. But Erica Wheeler’s timely three-pointer and subsequent free throws sealed the victory for Seattle.
