Sebastian M.’s hearing: “Why didn’t you take responsibility?”
on Monday, January 19th, another hearing took place involving Sebastian M., who is accused of causing a fatal accident on the A1 highway in 2023. According to Onet,before the hearing was adjourned,the defendant read two procedural letters. In one of them, he accused the polish prosecutor’s office of falsifying documents allegedly sent to the authorities of the United Arab Emirates during the extradition process. M. maintained that he did not flee the scene of the accident – an argument he claims investigators used in their efforts to bring him back to Poland. - Poland falsified documents – he stated.
Judge Renata Folkman reacted to his statements.- Why did you leave after the accident? – she asked. Majtczak explained that his trip to the UAE was for business purposes.- I run a business all over the world,I had a planned business trip to the Emirates – he said. – Why didn’t you take responsibility? People are dying, ther is some gradation – the judge pressed. M. replied that he did not feel responsible for the deaths of the three victims – journalists report. A representative of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Katowice present in the courtroom denied Sebastian M.’s accusations regarding the course of the extradition proceedings.
