Sebastian Stan, Vanessa Kirby to Star in ‘Ruins’ Adaptation

Sebastian Stan and Vanessa Kirby, both Academy Award nominees, are set to headline and produce the film adaptation of Amy Taylor’s upcoming novel, Ruins. Miramax secured the rights to the project following a competitive acquisition battle.
The two actors,currently filming Avengers: Doomsday, will take on dual roles in Ruins, leading the cast and serving as producers. Stan recently appeared in Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts*, while Kirby is slated to debut as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman in The Fantastic Four: First Steps on July 25.
The storyline of Ruins centers on a couple in Athens whose affair with a young Greek woman during the summer threatens their relationship. The narrative delves into themes of privilege,power,desire,and intimacy.
Alexandra Loewy of Miramax spearheaded the acquisition of Ruins, which will be produced by Aluna Entertainment, Scott Free and Linden. A director and release date for the Ruins movie have not yet been announced.
