Responsibilities of a Security Officer – Flex Patrol Specialist
The role requires providing customer service to staff, contractors, and visitors by implementing site-specific procedures, access control, and security protocols at a utilities location. Officers will also be expected to respond to incidents and critical situations calmly and effectively, reporting hazards, equipment concerns, and suspicious activity to the appropriate personnel.
Regular and random patrols of buildings, yards, parking areas, and perimeter fencing are essential to deter unauthorized activity. Monitoring alarms, cameras, and utility infrastructure areas, documenting observations, and escalating issues according to post orders are also key responsibilities. Detailed incident reports, patrol logs, and shift communications must be completed, with coordination with supervisors and local responders as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. All applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with federal, state, and local laws, and Allied Universal will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories consistent with applicable laws. A drug screen will be conducted where permitted by law. Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local regulations and may be required before employment. A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions.
