Qualifications and Required Credentials

Candidates must possess a High School diploma or equivalent (GED, homeschool verification, or partial post-secondary education). While not strictly required, prior experience in criminal justice, security, or a related field is preferred. However, several certifications and licenses are mandatory for employment.

Successful applicants will be required to obtain a Texas Security Officer Non-Commissioned license within one year of hire, with application submission within 14 days of the start date. Alternatively, a Security Officer Commissioned Level 3 or Personal Protection Officer Level 4 license is acceptable. A valid Texas Driver’s License is also required and must be obtained within 90 days of employment.

candidates must hold current certifications in IAHSS (Certified Security Officer-Basic/Advanced/Supervisor from the International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety) and NVCRISIS (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention or Instructor certification from the Crisis Prevention Institute). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, while preferred, is not mandatory.
