China Earthquake Administration Enhances Safety Measures for Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day Holidays

On September 11, the China Earthquake Administration held a video conference to mobilize and deploy earthquake safety work during the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays. Wang Kun, secretary of the Party Leadership Group and director of the China Earthquake Administration, presided over and spoke at the meeting, and Yin Chaomin, member of the Party Leadership Group and deputy director, attended the meeting.
The meeting emphasized the importance of thoroughly studying and implementing the instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping, strengthening risk awareness and bottom-line thinking, and ensuring the safety of earthquakes across the country during the holidays. The administration will strengthen organizational leadership, responsibility implementation, and earthquake disaster risk assessment and earthquake information services.
To ensure public safety, the China Earthquake Administration will:
- Implement the holiday duty system to ensure sufficient manpower 24 hours a day
- Conduct comprehensive risk investigations and hidden danger investigations of business operations
- Strengthen the processing and analysis of earthquake monitoring data and earthquake tracking and assessment
- Enhance on-site emergency force standby and make good earthquake emergency preparations
- Implement the safety production responsibility system and do a good job in safety production and petition and stability maintenance
The meeting was held via video, with relevant units under the bureau reporting on holiday duty and emergency preparedness. Officials at or above the department level from the China Earthquake Administration and its units attended the meeting.
