şgelmez, the vocalist of Lambrini Girls, has announced she ⁤is taking “a step back from live shows” due to⁤ struggles ⁢with her mental and physical health.

Despite the band having a US tour‍ starting later this month and a ⁣19-date UK and European tour planned for November 19th, şgelmez ⁢will not⁣ be participating in the US tour, with Kaitlin Pelkey from Big Girl’s filling in.

In a detailed⁤ Instagram post, şgelmez explained her decision, citing a need for openness about touring with disabilities and a desire⁤ to‍ connect with others⁤ facing similar challenges. She revealed ‍she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and autism four years ago. Following last year’s touring, she developed a physical tic that has progressed to a vocal tic, causing her significant ⁤distress.

şgelmez expressed her struggle to “exist normally” and the realization that this may⁢ not ‍be possible ‍for her. She stated she needs to withdraw from touring to focus on her mental health and seek medical help, aiming to “mend the foundations” she’s cracked⁢ within herself.

The band’s scheduled shows will⁢ still proceed with Pelkey taking her place on the US tour.
