Senator Pledges Support for Key Projects in 2025 Budget
Senator Joseph Victor Ejercito promised on Friday to help fund the priority projects of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in the 2025 national budget.
As the Senate and House of Representatives work to agree on the proposed PHP6.352-trillion budget, Ejercito stated, “We fully support President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to prioritize funding for key projects.” He emphasized that these projects are vital for the country’s social and economic progress.
Ejercito highlighted his commitment to collaborating with the Marcos administration to realize these projects. He mentioned that the focus will be on infrastructure, including railways and airports, as well as healthcare.
He noted that these projects can create jobs and enhance living standards in the country. Ejercito pointed out that funding for foreign-assisted priority railway projects appears in the Senate budget, ensuring continuous implementation.
He welcomed the assurance from Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Arsenio Balisacan that there would be no new taxes to fund these projects. This strategy reflects the administration’s careful management of finances while addressing urgent needs.
Balisacan said the President instructed his economic team to confirm funding for priority projects to achieve the administration’s goals in the coming year.
