Seth MacFarlane⁢ Releases ⁢Album of Lost Frank Sinatra Arrangements

Seth MacFarlane, a longtime Frank Sinatra admirer, ⁤has released “Lush Life: ‍The Lost Sinatra Arrangements,” his ninth studio album.The project stemmed from MacFarlane’s relationship with the Sinatra family and access to a treasure trove of unreleased material.

Tina Sinatra, Frank’s daughter,⁣ approached MacFarlane with the possibility to‍ explore 1,200 archival boxes containing sheet music arranged specifically for ‍her father. MacFarlane⁤ described the find as a⁤ musical gold ‍mine.He likened ⁢it to a Beatles fan discovering⁣ unreleased ⁢Lennon-McCartney songs from 1969.

macfarlane emphasized the rarity‍ of the find. “The songs that ‍we have are the songs that we ‍have from his‍ discography… And then all of a sudden, it’s like, ‘Oh, you ⁤know what? There’s⁣ one more cookie⁤ at the bottom⁢ of the bag.'”

Many of the songs and arrangements where entirely unknown, even to seasoned musicians who had worked with Sinatra. MacFarlane noted that about a third ⁣of⁣ the album consists of such discoveries.

MacFarlane recognized the ⁤signature styles of arrangers like Nelson Riddle in the unreleased charts. ⁣He said hearing ⁢the⁢ new arrangements felt like experiencing a⁣ brand-new Wes Anderson film,⁢ familiar yet‍ fresh.

“If you’re an aficionado of this kind of music, it’s like being a Lennon-McCartney fan and finding⁣ something that was written ⁢in like 1969 that was ⁢just never played,” MacFarlane said.

“There was no question who wrote this, but it was new… It was so clearly Nelson Riddle,but we were hearing the ⁣first new Nelson Riddle ⁢chart that anyone has heard in decades,” MacFarlane added.

While no ⁢duets with collaborators like Liz Gillies or Ariana Grande were found for this album, MacFarlane ⁢remains hopeful. He suggested that ⁤further exploration of the archive might reveal duet opportunities in the future.

MacFarlane⁢ indicated that enough material⁤ exists for at least one or two more albums.Some songs ⁢recorded for “Lush Life” were ultimately cut but could appear on a subsequent release.

MacFarlane plans⁤ to‍ continue exploring the ⁤Sinatra archives, hinting at the possibility of future albums featuring more ‍of these unearthed musical treasures. He also joked about the intensity⁢ of a Las ⁤Vegas residency.
