The K-pop group SEVENTEEN returned to The Kelly Clarkson Show on Wednesday, delivering a vibrant performance of “Thunder,” the lead single from their newly released fifth studio album, Happy Burstday. The album celebrates SEVENTEEN’s 10th anniversary.
The performance, staged in an industrial setting, begins with THE 8 answering a branded payphone.Soon, all 13 members—S.COUPS, JEONGHAN, JOSHUA, JUN, HOSHI, WONWOO, WOOZI, MINGYU, DK, SEUNGKWAN, VERNON, and DINO—join him, answering the call with an energetic rendition of “thunder.” The group showcased their dynamic K-pop performance.
Throughout the performance, each of SEVENTEEN’s units—hip-hop, vocal, and dance—takes center stage. The members rotate positions, highlighting different artists during the choreography in the expansive space. The SEVENTEEN performance was a hit with fans.
Clarkson introduced SEVENTEEN as a “K-pop performance powerhouse,” a title they’ve earned through previous appearances.In January 2021,the group made their U.S.debut on Clarkson’s show with “Left & Right.”
Happy Burstday features solo tracks from all 13 members for the first time, alongside group songs like “Thunder,” ”HBD,” and “Bad Influence,” produced by Pharrell. Timbaland also contributed to the project.
