Several schools in Riga will be renovated this summer. Which ones? – Inbox.eu

The Riga City Council has announced plans to renovate and restore several schools throughout the city during the summer of 2026. The property department of the Riga City Council is overseeing the implementation of these investment projects.

According to the external communication department of the Riga City Council, renovation work will be carried out at the Riga Ilguciems Primary School, located at Dzirciema Street 109, and the Riga Arkadijas Secondary School, located at Melnsila Street 6.

The total cost for the work at these two schools is 884,000 euros. This budget is comprised of a 795,600 euro loan and 88,400 euros in municipal funding.

Phased restoration work on school buildings is also scheduled for the Riga 25th Secondary School at Rushonu Street 6 and the Riga Northern Countries Gymnasium at Paula Leina Street 12.

The total cost of the restoration project for these institutions is 831,000 euros, which includes a loan of 747,900 euros and 83,100 euros in funding from the Riga municipality.

In addition to renovations and restorations, the city plans to establish educational centers focused on technology and natural sciences. These centers will be located at the Riga Darzciems Secondary School at Sesku Street 72 and the Riga 85th Secondary School at Purvciema Street 23A.

The total cost for the establishment of these educational centers is 1,032,000 euros. This total includes loans amounting to 928,800 euros and co-financing from the Riga municipality of 103,200 euros.
