Heavy flooding has hit Greece due to a storm named "Bora." Reports confirm at least two deaths and many people are missing, primarily in the northern regions. Snow and hail are also affecting some areas. Currently, it remains unclear if similar weather will impact southern regions of Bulgaria, where heavy snowfall continues.
The entire island of Lemnos is underwater. Authorities are urging residents to stay indoors. One confirmed victim, a 57-year-old man, was found by firefighters after he attempted to use a tractor to free his car from mud but was overwhelmed by rising waters. The second victim was a 70-year-old man found in a flooded home, with no details available about his cause of death.
There is an evacuation alert for residents in the Kontia municipality of Lemnos due to overflow from a nearby reservoir. Many people are trapped in their homes by high water levels. Parts of the military are assisting affected residents.
Local residents report that heavy rain quickly flooded the area. The cyclone "Bora" is affecting the entire country, with heavy rain also accompanied by hail in some locations.
Mobile alerts were sent to residents and visitors in Thessaloniki and Halkidiki due to strong rain and wind. Some ferry services have been suspended because of the severe sea conditions, and road police advise against travel until Monday.
